Hello!

Since childhood, I have always been an observer and enjoyed asking complicated questions (sometimes, much to my parents' irritation). Fortunately, I was allowed to "not know" the answer and encouraged to search where that answer might exist in the world. Years later, I turned my passion for asking questions into intensive study. My limitless curiosity paid off when I graduated with my Ph.D. in Human Development & Family Science with a certificate of Qualitative Research and Evaluation Methodologies.

My academic work has centered on exploring intergenerational connectedness. Before founding Cardinal Direction, I spent 20 years in academia—yes, graduate school absolutely counts as work! During my career, I've had the privilege of working with individuals across the lifespan: from children and young adults to those navigating middle adulthood and later life. I’m grateful to the many people who entrusted me with their stories and perspectives, as their willingness to share inspired me to forge a path where research could be applied meaningfully in people's lives, families, and communities. I am passionate about making research accessible to all, empowering us to question its purpose and reflect on its relevance to our own experiences.

At Cardinal Direction, our mission is to create an environment where curiosity is celebrated and the idea of "not knowing" is embraced as an exciting opportunity for growth and discovery. While I’ve had the privilege of learning from inspiring colleagues, scholars, and research participants, I’m energized by the challenge of exploring new fields and pushing the boundaries of qualitative research. I hope that after working with Cardinal Direction, you, too, will be inspired to achieve deeper, more impactful outcomes that resonate in the lives of others.
